Christmas markets (Vánoční trhy) are an essential part of the Czech festive magic. Every year, they light up the historic center of Prague, bringing tourists and locals together to celebrate the holiday season in a true winter wonderland.

The city’s largest and most famous Christmas markets take place at Old Town Square and Wenceslas Square, where visitors can enjoy stunning decorations, festive music, and the irresistible aroma of seasonal treats. Smaller, yet equally charming markets can be found at Havelské tržiště and Náměstí Republiky – all within a short walking distance of each other.

Prague’s Christmas markets feature beautifully decorated wooden stalls selling a variety of traditional Czech products, from handcrafted ornaments and artisan souvenirs to delicious local delicacies like grilled sausages, roasted corn, and other festive specialties. Of course, no Christmas market experience would be complete without a cup of mulled wine (svařák), a comforting drink that keeps your hands warm while you browse the stalls.

Whether you're searching for unique gifts, indulging in Czech holiday treats, or simply soaking up the magical atmosphere, Prague’s Christmas markets offer an unforgettable seasonal experience right in the heart of the city.
